I've just watched the video
from Kevin Breel "Confessions of a depressed comic" and I think it's
a very interesting video and touching. It's the first video or news that deals
with depression so I agree with him; depression is like a taboo topic, it's
very rare hearing someone talking about it. The boldness of the speaker is
talking about is very estimable, you can feel his emotion during the speech.
He's a very good
entertainer and, even if he's speaking about something that is absolutely not
"comic", you can notice his ability in entertaining and talking in
front of an audience.
I agree with everything he
said but, the part that impressed me more, is when he explain how people treat
mental health's problems. The example of the broken arm versus a
"broken" brain is really impressive and let you realize how is the
society nowadays.
Kevin Breel's speech could
be a starting point for let the taboos disappear and help people to treat
mental problems in a different way.
